How should I export my episode?
Once your episode is recorded and edited it's time to export it and upload it to nightcast.
Nightcast will re-encode your episodes in a well suited format for podcasting, balancing audio quality and listening experience.
Here's our recommendations:
- File Format: MP3
- Bitrate: 128kbps for stereo, 64kbps for mono
- Mono if your episode includes only voice
- Stereo if you have music or sound effects
- Sample Rate: 44.1khz
- Bit Depth: 16bit PCM
- CBR (Constant Bit Rate)
We find that for podcasts 128kbps is a great compression setting and quality won't be compromissed. Furthermore the file size will be small so your audience can listen without interruptions on slow internet connections or mobile data.
